David Blackmore is the fifth generation Australian farmer with 35 years of experience in cattle breeding. During his career he has been instrumental in commercializing cattle embryo transfer programs in Australia and sourcing genetics that could increase the quality of breeding herds here in Australia.
In 1988 he discovered a heard of the Japanese Wagyu cattle, at the Texas A&M university USA. He imported some of those bloodlines to Australia, becoming the first Wagyu bloodlines to enter the country.
In 1993, he has since introduced approximately 80 percent of imported Wagyu bloodlines. Today, Blackmore has become the top Wagyu breeder of the country.
Blackmore Wagyu Beef brand is free of hormonal growth promotants, antibiotic residues and genetically modified feeds. All beef under the “Platinum label of Blackmore Wagyu Beef” comes from full-blood Wagyu cattle that is taken care of on a specifically designed feeding program under Blackmore’s personal supervision for over 500 days.
